About Little Hands, Big Plans
Welcome to Little Hands, Big Plans — a podcast and a movement dedicated to mothers who dream, who love deeply, and who believe that motherhood is not the end of ambition, but the beginning of a richer, more meaningful life.
When I became a mother, my entire world shifted — but not in the way society often warns us about. Yes, there were sacrifices. Yes, there were sleepless nights. But what surprised me most was the deep clarity I found. I realized that the very dreams I once chased were evolving — not shrinking — to make space for something even bigger: a life where my family could be at the center, not the sidelines.
At Little Hands, Big Plans, we believe that the dreams God plants in your heart do not expire when you become a mother. They grow. They transform. They multiply.
Through inspiring interviews, heartfelt solo episodes, and practical encouragement, Little Hands, Big Plans helps you reimagine a new way of working, living, and leading — one where freedom, faith, and family are the pillars of your success.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a professional rethinking your path, or simply a mom who knows there’s more for you than the relentless hustle the world offers — you’re in the right place.
About Me: Emilia Coto
Hi, I’m Emilia — the host of Little Hands, Big Plans — and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a wife, mother, entrepreneur, immigration lawyer, and storyteller. My journey to this podcast wasn’t part of a grand plan — it grew naturally from my own search for freedom, and presence after becoming a mother.
When I went to law school, I had a very traditional path in mind. I envisioned myself building a stable career in a corporate setting. Entrepreneurship wasn’t even on my radar. But life has a funny way of preparing us for the roles we were actually created to step into.
Before becoming a mother, I took the leap to open my own law firm, Sisu Legal, focusing on immigration. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that decision to build something on my own terms would become one of the greatest blessings of my motherhood journey.
After I had my children, I couldn’t imagine being separated from them for most of their waking hours. The freedom I had built — the ability to pivot, slow down, and refocus — became priceless.
I know firsthand the tension so many women feel:
Loving your work and wanting to honor your gifts.
Loving your children and wanting to be fully present for their fleeting childhood.
Feeling called to both — but not knowing how to make it all fit.
I created Little Hands, Big Plans because I believe there’s a better way. A quieter, more intentional path that honors our families without burying our dreams. A path that requires faith, resilience, and a willingness to trust that small beginnings can lead to a more integrated life — in God’s perfect timing.
My faith anchors everything I do. One verse that inspires this podcast deeply is Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I’m passionate about helping mothers see the beauty and potential in the season they are in. You don’t have to hustle your way to success. You don’t have to sacrifice your family on the altar of career ambition. You can build something beautiful — something sustainable — right here, with little hands tugging at your sleeves and big plans stirring in your heart.
Why Little Hands, Big Plans?
The name Little Hands, Big Plans is rooted in both tenderness and boldness.
The little hands are the reminder: your children are not a distraction from your important work — they are the most important work.
(One of my favorite quotes, from C.S. Lewis, sums it up perfectly:
“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.”)
The big plans speak to the dreams God has planted in your heart. Motherhood changes you. It softens you and strengthens you. It brings you face to face with your own limitations — and with God’s limitless grace.
Little Hands, Big Plans is about building a life where you can be fully present for the little years — and still honor the big callings on your life.

A Little More About Me
Faith First: My relationship with Jesus is the foundation of my life and this podcast. You’ll hear His name often around here.
Family Centered: I’m raising my little ones with the same love and intentionality I saw modeled by my own mom — a working mom and entrepreneur who showed me it’s possible to build both a beautiful business and a beautiful family life.
Entrepreneurial Spirit: As the founder of Sisu Legal, I help families navigate U.S. and Canadian immigration, giving them a chance to build a new life together. It’s an extension of my deep belief in freedom, family, and new beginnings.
Passionate about Freedom: Freedom means more to me than just entrepreneurship. It’s the ability to craft a life that reflects what matters most: faith, family, service, and stewardship of the gifts we’re given.
Inspired by Slow Growth: I believe slow, intentional growth often yields the richest fruit. We’re not building fast and frantic here. We’re planting roots that can weather the seasons.
Let’s Dream Together
Motherhood may have changed you — but it didn’t erase you. You are still capable of beautiful things. And you don’t have to walk this path alone.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s build something extraordinary — one faithful step, one small beginning, one big dream at a time.
